So sixth avenue hosted the hometown heroes contest on sunday....thought it would be a really rad contest..however....i thought wrong. First off you should never expect a contest that has sponsors like tech deck and chipotle to be good...i don't mean the skateboarding end, im mean the people putting it on. Tech deck, ok for the kids i get it, this is open division crap meaning no little 7 year old, for the most part, will be throwing down fakie tre lipslides. then there's chipotle...give me a freaking break, the place blows....baja burrito (who has burrito in its name) knows you dont just serve chips and burrito only! you gotta throw in fish tacos, salads...damn i dont even like it but fruit tea! these are all good reasons i believe and im sure most would agree....so down with the HH! heres some photos and stuff.
This thing is bad...real bad....the only thing they had going is patrick melcher...he was awesome.
Rob got robbed, and bad. landed a ton of tricks...smooth...and the crowd loved him. so theres another reason HH is more bush league than anything ive ever seen.
however, subway did bring back the prok sandwhich...yes yes.
that flash is obnoxiously tall...and they didnt even use it. awesome.
the absolute best part of the day was david woods run...he's always fun to watch at contests...skating with his hands in his pockets...eating it on the old 7ft...and then he topped it all today.....tn beast dress...with an airhorn. good idea with the horn, he found a way to heckle, clear the way, and keep opponents from landing tricks.
